Coordination Meetings: Meeting for COVID-19 prevention and gem industry

Kachin State COVID-19 Control and Emergence Response Committee held a work coordination meeting with the District and Township Committees for prevention of COVID-19 variant infection in the country on Friday.

Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan discussed that Kachin State has less cases of COVID-19 starting later 2022. After the last case of infection on 6th January this year, no case has been detected in the state. But the current detection of COVID-19 variant has higher infection rate than the previous ones.

He urged all the committees at different levels to educate the public to follow the COVID-19 prevention measures, issued by the Ministry of Health and to get COVID-19 vaccination and booster doses. He also urged them to make systematic arrangements for the preparation measures. 

In the afternoon, the Chief Minister met with officials from Kachin State Gem Entrepreneurs Association (Myitkyina). He welcomed the new Executive members of the Association, and urged them to strive for development of gem industry in the state in cooperation with the State Government. He also instructed to organize the 4th Gems Emporium in Kachin State.
