Coordination meeting:Meeting with rectors and education officers held

The Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe held a coordination meeting with the rectors from the Universities, principals from the educational Degree colleges and education head officers from the regions and states at the meeting hall of the ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday via video conferencing system.

In his address at the meeting, the Union Minister said that according to the statistics as of 30th June, a total of over 7.9 million students have enrolled in basic education schools across the country. According to the guidelines of the Prime Minister, it is mandatory for all school-aged children to be on the education track.

In order to ensure that all the children have opportunities to learn and for those who have not yet enrolled in school due to various reasons, basic education schools will extend the enrollment date until July 14 and accept enrollment.

It is good thing for the country that school-aged children are on the education track and there were recommendations in last Myanmar Education Conference 2023 that every citizen should complete at least KG+ Grade 9 education.

He said that there are more than 7.2 million students are being study up to KG+ Grade 9 education in this academic year, it is important to prevent students from drop out schools and abundant of educated people is the basic factor to develop the nation,   about 51 industrial and agricultural high schools have been opened in 50 districts and other related matters.

After that, Deputy Minister Dr. Zaw Myint gave instructions to implement the guidelines with collective efforts, address for the accurate statistics and compile the manual of graduation thesis and the meeting was successfully ended.
