Coordination Meeting: Union Attorney General Meets Regions/States Legal Officers

A work coordination meeting of the Union Attorney General and legal officers from regions and states took place at Union Attorney General Office’s meeting room in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

Union Attorney General U Tun Tun Oo stated that the Union Government is emphasizing on the national reconciliation, internal peace, emergence of democracy federal Union and socio-economic development processes.

He added that successful work undertakings have been made during 3 years period of the government, with the establishment of law information system in Myanmar and  opening of the pilot law offices in states and regions to exercise the crime management system without delay.

He urged the states/regions legal officers to implement the tasks of scrutinizing the Bills drafted by the concerned departments, in accordance with the Constitution and laws enacted by Pyitaungsu Hluttaw. He also urged the legal officers to study the existing laws and, amended laws thoroughly and must complied as manuals in the court.

He also urged them to obey the tender procedures guidelines, instructed by the President office’s for work undertakings with the use of state budget. He also stressed the needs to supervise for freeing from bribery. The Anti-corruption Unit (CPU) was already set up at the Union Attorney General Office, and it has been carrying out the tasks for prevention and taking action against corruption.

The Union Attorney General called for making constant efforts in order to become good legal officers and staff so as to stand as an organization that can serve the public by mean of law enforcement.
