Coordination Meeting: Promoting investment and foreign economic cooperation

The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations held its coordination meeting on promoting investment and foreign economic cooperation on November 20.

Union Minister Dr. Wah Wah Maung made an opening remarks, stressing the need to meet the investment targets for the 2025–2026 fiscal year and to prepare the ministry’s 2026–2030 five-year plan with accurate data. She highlighted priorities such as national interests, national security guidelines, agro-based industrial development, support for MSMEs, and creating a favorable investment environment.

She also called for stronger cooperation with ASEAN, GMS, ACMECS, and strategic partner countries, and urged effective use of international assistance. Deputy Minister U Than Sin Lwin emphasized improving the ministry’s efficiency, building trust with economic partners, improving human resource capacity, and ensuring smooth investment and economic cooperation processes. Attendees also reported on fiscal-year progress, international cooperation plans, investment promotion strategies, and implementation challenges.
