Coordination meeting: Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman gave an opening remark

A work coordination meeting for natural disaster mitigation and rehabilitation activities was held at the Nay Pyi Taw Council office on September 17. It was attended by Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Disaster Management Committee U Than Tun Oo, Nay Pyi Taw Council members, together with various departmental personnel.

At the meeting, Naypyidaw Council Chairman, U Than Htun, gave an opening remark about the responsibilities of the committees managing natural disaster risks. He emphasized the importance of implementing plans effectively, ensuring that there is no shortage of food and drinking water for those affected by flooding, coordinating timely search and rescue operations, and accelerating recovery efforts.

He highlighted the need to open schools as quickly as possible, ensure accurate and precise damage assessments, provide health and safety measures for people returning to their homes, ensure access to drinking water, and improve transportation and communication.

He urged those present to share necessary advice and collaborate effectively. Next, the attendees clarified the work implementations and action plans as per the sector and the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman coordinated requirements.
