Coordination Meeting: Natural disaster mitigation and rehabilitation

A work coordination meeting for natural disaster mitigation and rehabilitation activities in Nay Pyi Taw council area was held at the meeting hall of Nay Pyi Taw council office on Friday evening and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo gave an opening remark.

Regarding the flood disaster, he urged officials to urgently carry out rehabilitation measures with mechanical forces, accurately compile the statistics in order to provide cash assistance for the flood-damaged buildings and its victims, prepare the water flow of drains and drainage canals next to the main roads and lanes as soon as possible. Then, the attendees reported their work activities as their relevant sector and fulfilled their requirements.

On the same day, he inspected the flood conditions on Nay Pyi Taw-Kintha-Koekway-Leinli-Pinlaung road in Tatkone Township due to the heavy rainfall. He urged to carry out the clearing and removal of silt to ensure the current flows properly and facilitating people’s transportation.

He also inspected the damaged condition of Box culvert on No.(2) Inter-District road in Tatkone township, the accumulation of garbage, dykes, branches and logs due to flood near the 120 feet long Mone River Crossing bridge, and urged to carry out the repair activities as soon as possible.
