Coordination Meeting: National Road Safety Council meeting

The National Road Safety Council (NRSC) held its work coordination meeting at the hall of the Ministry of Transport and Communication in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

During the opening remarks, member of the State Administration Council Union Minister General Mya Tun Oo in his capacity as Chairman of NRSC urged sub-committees, regions/states councils for their continuous efforts to focus short and long-term action plans of Quick Win Plans and NRSC Action Plan During the meeting, discussions were made upon aims and objective of National Road Safety Action Plan (2021-2030), current implementation processes and future plans, 2023 annual report of NRSC, global status report on road safety and traffic accident.  

The meeting also discussed matters on taking legal action on traffic violation, conducting educative talks on road safety, accident scene responses, conducting first aid training courses and preparing of traffic signs. For long term assistance of the country’s road safety sector, the National Road Safety Council has drafted Myanmar Road Safety action plan (2021-2030).

It includes 108 Action Plans in eight major sectors. Moreover, 5 Quick Win plans and action plan (2021-2030) drafted by NRSC includes Road Safety Management, Safer Road and Mobility, Safer Vehicles, Safer Road Users, Post-Crash Response and 12 Voluntary Targets.
