Coordination meeting: MoRAC UM attended meeting to draft master plan

The Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin accompanied by Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Deputy Minister (Culture) and officials attended a coordination meeting held as second day for drafting a comprehensive Master Plan for the long-term systematic implementation of the overall maintenance and conservation activities of the Shwesigon Pagoda in Bagan Archeological Zone included in the guidance of the Head of State in his inspection tour.

At the meeting, the Union Minister for the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture stated that in accordance with the guidance given by the Head of State during his inspection tour, the discussions will continue on the second day to ensure that a comprehensive Master Plan can be developed for the long-term systematic implementation of the overall maintenance and conservation activities of the Shwezigon Pagoda.

As the development of the Master Plan is very important, there will be repeated discussions to ensure that it is thorough and complete from all aspects. The goal is to complete drafting the Master plan by February 12, 2025, and the final version should be ready by January, 2025.

He mentioned that it is necessary to continue discussions and provide suggestions based on the outcomes of the meeting on 29th September. He emphasized that obtaining permission to develop and maintain the Shwezigon Pagoda Master Plan is indeed a great opportunity.

He urged that the current Master Plan being developed should be completed comprehensively and promptly.Next, the Mandalay Region Chief Minister discussed to cooperate and supplement in necessary matters regarding  with the drafting comprehensive master plan, Mandalay Region Minister for development clarified concerning with the drafting master plan and Director General of the Department of Archeological Research and National Museum about the data discussed on the first day of the meeting.

Then, Chairmen of Myanmar Engineering Society, Myanmar Engineering Council and permanent secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, Director General of the Department of Urban and Housing Development discussed the related matters.

Consequently, the Union Minister gave a speech of conclusion. After that, the Union Minister inspected the renovation works in Archeological building No-235 (Tha Kyar Pone pagoda) implemented by Archaeological servey in India (ASI), expansion of ground for car parking at the vicinity of the pagoda and moving notice board to the Thathana Beikman and gave necessary instruction.

Next, the Union Minister, Mandalay Region Chief Minister and party inspected digging 3 artesian wells in Sal Pauk In Chaung Village of Kyaukbadaung Township implemented with the assistance of the Department of Rural Development and two artesian well digging in In Taw Village implementing by Township development Department and gave necessary instruction.

After that, the Union Minister gave an opening speech at the meeting with the Township departmental officials and Township elders at the Township Hall, head the clarification of the Township General Administrator and urged the Township elder to cooperate and implement extensively.
