Coordination meeting: Meeting on consecration of Maravijaya Buddha Image held

A coordination meeting regarding with inviting the members of Sangha and reception matters to the consecration ceremony of the Maravijaya Buddha Image which will be the highest marble sitting Buddha Image in the world was held at the Lawkanat meeting hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture at 9:30 Am on Friday with the attendance of Union Minister U Ko Ko, Deputy Minister Daw Nu Mra Zan and officials.

In his opening speech, the Union Minister U Ko Ko said that the grand ceremonies of the consecrating the Maravijaya Buddha Image, ceremony of hoisting golden umbrellas atop the stone inscription chamber stupas and merits sharing ceremony will be held on full moon day of second Waso month of 1385 Myanmar Era.

The invited Sayadawgyis will attend the ceremony on the full moon day and need to transport them to arrive back at their residing monasteries on the first waning moon day in time for vowing three months of rainy retreat. Over 900 members of Sangha will be invited to the ceremonies.

All are urged to serve the assigned duty systematically etc. Next, the directors General of the department of religious affairs and Department for Promotion and Propagation of Sasana clarified the arrangements of airways and road transportation to invite the members of Sangha, facilities for the accommodation and reception matters and the attendees supplemented necessaries.

After giving speech of conclusion by the Union Minister, the meeting was concluded. Afterward, the Union Minister U Ko Ko together with Deputy Minister Daw Nu Mra Zan and officials attended the coordination meeting on reviewing the full dress rehearsal of “Lawba Ahmaung” or “Darkness of Greed” Myanmar traditional theatrical drama held in the Lawkanat meeting hall at 1 PM on the same day.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said that the “Lawba Ahmaung” or “Darkness of Greed” Myanmar traditional theatrical drama is the third one presented by the fine arts department under the ministry.

In every full dress testimonial performances, the ministers from other ministries, Deputy ministers and departmental officials who are interested in the theatrical performances and requested the critics and suggestions.

After correcting the necessaries, those were successful in the stage performances and the televised performances etc. and gave the necessary suggestions.

Then, the director general of fine arts department clarified the rearrangements of the theatrical drama “Lawba Ahmaung” or “Darkness of Greed” depending on the suggestions. Next, the attendees clarified the undertakings as per the sector and the Union minister gave a speech of conclusion.
