Coordination Meeting: Meeting for achieving success in 32nd SEA Games

A coordination meeting for achieving success in the 32nd SEA Games was held at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium (B) in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday. At the meeting, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan said that plans are being made to compete in the 32nd SEA Games with 19 sports by Myanmar.

That’s why, athletes are conducting camp trainings at the Nay Pyi Taw sports training camp and the sports federations in Yangon according to the respective sports techniques. Out of the sports that will compete in the 32nd SEA Games, wushu, athletics, volleyball and boxing athletes were sent to the People's Republic of China for joint training for 3 months.

The Union Minister urged all to work hard to gain more achievements than the medals that won in the 31st SEA Games. Later, Deputy Minister U Myo Hlaing reported the needs for gaining success in the 32nd SEA Games and chairmen of respective Sports Federations discussed camping and training of the athletes, selecting athletes to compete in the respective sports techniques, providing sports gears and aims for winning medals.

In his concluding remarks, the Union Minister said that officials of the Sports Federations and the athletes need to work hard with the best efforts and abilities in the competition to take pride for the nation through sports. He called for officials from relevant sports federations, supervisors and coaches to encourage their athletes to become the ones who can bring pride for the nation and the people and try hard in the competition with diligence and a strong spirit.
