Coordination meeting: Matters on reopening of schools in Kayah State discussed

A coordination meeting for the reopening of universities, degree colleges, and training schools within Kayah State was held at the Kayah State Government Office in the morning on 3rd September. The meeting was attended by the Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, Commander of Regional Operation Command, members of the State Government, relevant department heads, and representatives from universities, degree colleges, and training schools, including Pro-rectors, principals and teachers.

In his opening remarks, Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin highlighted the government’s commitment to advancing education and emphasized the importance of reopening universities, degree colleges, and training schools in Kayah State as soon as possible. He noted that in order to ensure a smooth reopening, several requirements must be met, including cleanliness, maintenance, provision of educational materials, security, and renovation of classrooms and dormitories. He encouraged all responsible officials to work together diligently.

Following this, Pro-Rectors and Principals from University of Technology, University of Computer Studies, Education Degree College (Loikaw), Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Loikaw), ethnic youth development training school, Nursing and Midwifery Training School and Agriculture and Livestock Breeding High School clarified the matters on teaching, requirements for the renovation of the school buildings and other needs to be fulfilled and the State Government members supplemented necessary matters.

Then, the Commander of Regional Operation Command reported on the security measures arranged for reopening the schools.
