Coordination meeting: Matters on Permanent Residence System discussed

The Central Committee on Implementation of Permanent Residence System-PR System in Myanmar held a work coordination meeting to be able to scrutinize and grant PR to the applicants in line with the law and procedures was held at the Ministry of Immigration and Population in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 18th July and attended by Central Committee Chairman Union Minister U Myint Kyaing.

In his remark, the Union Minister said that the reformation of the Central Management Committee on Permanent Residency System for Foreigners, Central Committee on Implementation of Permanent Residence System-PR System and Work Committee was carried out during the tenure of State Administration Council. There are 4 types of PR and the implementation was initiated on 29th January, 2015. Till 30th January, 2023, there is a total of 751 applicants and 699 were approved by the Central Committee. 41 are remaining to do personal interview including 33 applicants and 8 family members. In this meeting, for 51 applicants who have been carried out initial scrutinization, the necessary reviewing and discussion are needed to be conducted.

The official in-charge on behalf of the central Committee secretary clarified the biographies of 51 applicants, their individual scores, suggestions of work Committee and the work plans to be carried out after scrutinizing by the central Committee.

Then, the central Committee members reviewed the individual biographies of applicants and gave suggestions to be able to grant PR in line with the law and the Central Committee Chairman Union Minister U Myint Kyaing coordinated on the discussion and gave a speech of conclusion.
