





A coordination meeting for the timely completion in upgrading tasks of the 47-mile and (7) furlongs long border trade route of Moe Mauk – Lwejal road section was held at Melikha hall of the regional government office on Monday. Moe Mauk – Lwejal road is a border trade route, connected to Long Chuan District of Dehong Sub Provincial area, China and Lwejel township of Bamaw district, Myanmar.
At the meeting, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan said that Kachin State is a neighboring state, bordering Yunnan Province of the People’s Republic of China and these border trade routes in Kachin State play vital role for export and import goods. He added that upgrading Moe Mauk – Lwejal road to nylon asphalt road with the BOT system is set to be completed in 3years according to the contracts with Chinese Construction Company and it’s needed to openly discuss and pay special emphasis for timely completion of the road in scheduled time.
Director of Foreign Relations Department Mr. Zhang Ma San, and officials reported faster trade operations, road expansion, grinding works for Moe Mauk – Lwejal road, temporary suspension of operations during COVID-19 pandemic and other conditions needed for this project. And, an official gave a brief explanation regarding the information on the work plan that will be carried out according to the contract.
Based on the reports, Chief Minister stressed that once completed, this border trade road will gain benefit for smooth commodity flow between the two countries and then, he coordinated the needs upon the reports.
Next, chief minister together with the minister for natural resources affair encouraged the collective cleaning tasks along the Sein Pan road of Ayeyar Ward of Myitkyina conducted by the members of Kachin State Clean & Green Team and departmental staff from State Development Committee.
Similarly, the wife of chief minister and party collectively planted shady perennial trees in the plot of State Women's Affairs Association.
