Coordination meeting: Implementations of projects under MoU discussed

The coordination meeting regarding with the implementing projects under the MoU between Myanmar and India was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement through Hybrid System on 26 August with attendance of Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khaing, deputy minister U Aung Tun Khaing, permanent secretary, directors general and officials in person and the officials concerned from the Rakhine State Government and the state level officials who are implementing the projects through online.

In her opening remark, the union minister said it’s been arranged to monitor and assess the second years project implementations with four stages. Among 13 second year project implementations, only 7 project implementations have reached to the stage-4. The rest 6 implementations appear to be weakened. The coordination is needed to substitute with the projects that can be actually implemented on ground. For the constant reports of the status of implementations to India Government, the implementing departments and the Rakhine State Government are to send the reports on the 10th of every month as the target date.

Then, the Rakhine State Chief Minister discussed the complementation of works in the projects under MoU, difficulties encountered, requirements to be coordinated and the statuses to be implemented.

Next, the deputy minister U Aung Tun KHaing said it’s needed to complete the implementations systematically for the satisfactoriness of donor country India which is providing for the development works of Myanmar. While implementing the works of second year, the preparations for the third year project implementations simultaneously.

Afterward, the deputy director general clarified the four-stages of monitoring and evaluation on the project work implementations process with power point presentations and the officials from the ministries reported the implementations regarding with the projects and the future work plans in related sectors.
