Coordination Meeting: Dispatching workers to Thailand under MoU U-Turn system

A work coordination meeting on systematic sending back of employees under MoU U-Turn system who are working in Thailand with MoU was held at the Ministry of Labour on Tuesday.

At the meeting, Union Minister for Labour Dr. Pwint San said that the return of workers to Thailand under the MoUU-Turn system needs to be carried out quickly within the specified time.

Myanmar agencies need to be responsible and accountable for the number of workers who are actually wanted to recruit which is included in the job invitation.

The worker also needs to know which agency is responsible. Regarding the systematic dispatching of workers to Thailand through the MoUU-Turn system, a meeting of Myanmar-Thailand labour affairs experts will be held and as the Ministry, it needs to give suggestions and discuss the facts to be relaxed and eased and the issues to be coordinated according to the processes.

After that, officials of Myanmar Overseas Employment Agencies Federation (MOEAF) reported on dispatching of employees with MoUU-Turn system, signing agreement for employment, issues to be discussed with the Ministry of Labour of Thailand, MoU process and difficulties.

The MOEAF then presented over 43.35 million kyats that will be donated through the National Disaster Management Committee for the rescue and rehabilitation tasks in the disaster-affected areas to the Union Minister and officials and the Union Minister also gave in turn certificate of honour.
