Coordination Meeting : Development of foodstuff based MSME sector

For the development of foodstuff based MSME sector, Ministry of Industry held a work coordination meeting at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on November 21st. Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than attended the meeting together with the Nay Pyi Taw Council member and many other concerned officials.

Attendees reported on the matters concerning with foodstuff manufacturing processes along with the MSME loans disbursement, market penetration, food safety measures, systematic packaging of the products and selling the products via Digital Platforms.

Speaking at the meeting, the Union Minister said scrutinizing of workplace system, product standardizing, packaging and financial assistance are needed for the development of foodstuff based MSME industry. He also called for cooperation of related ministries and private organizations to establish a system which include the MSME statistics for the development of socio-economic life within the region.

The Union Minister added that collaborative efforts are needed to draft the policies based on the meeting’s outcomes for the sustainable development of foodstuff MSME sectors. During the meeting, attendees are urged to discuss various kinds of works, products, amounts and number of employees at the various industrial zones.
