Coordination meeting: Construction projects scrutiny Committee held a meeting

The Construction Projects Scrutiny Committee held its coordination meeting for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Construction in Nay Pyi Taw on February 19.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of Scrutiny Committee Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, stated that the meeting was convened to ensure that construction projects across the country are systematically implemented, meet specified quality standards, prevent the loss of state funds, maintain balanced expenditures, and adhere to financial regulations and disciplines.

He mentioned that training session (had already been conducted to ensure that engineers from the relevant ministries involved in the committee uniformly understand and comply with the standards required for scrutinizing estimated budgets.

He urged all parties to strive for the successful implementation of construction projects by maintaining quality through supervision by quality assurance teams and ensuring compliance with established standards. Following this, the Director-General of the Union Auditor-General's Office explained the requirements for preparing and submitting financial estimates by union-level organizations and ministries.

He also discussed the financial rules, regulations, and policies that must be followed to ensure the completion of construction projects within the fiscal year. Next, the Secretary of the Scrutiny Committee presented updates on the implementation status of previous meeting resolutions and outlined the procedures to be followed in carrying out construction projects.

Subsequently, committee members, including representatives from union-level organizations and relevant union ministries, provided detailed explanations and presentations on their respective sectors. The committee chairman, the Union Minister, delivered concluding remarks and coordinated the necessary actions to address the requirements of the projects.
