A work coordination meeting was held on Wednesday to discuss operating cement factories at full capacity.

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi highlighted the crucial role of Cement Factories in the country's construction projects, which also reduce the use of foreign currency for import substitution products. He stressed the need to boost production for sufficient local supply by operating factories at their full capacity.

He added that the ministry granted permission to extract industrial raw minerals, the major raw materials for cement production. The Union Minister urged all to make concerted efforts for boosting production with improved technology. Attendees reported on the availability of raw materials, production of finished products, market conditions, and obstacles. Currently, 19 Cement Factories are operational across Nay Pyi Taw, Regions, and States.
