Coordination meeting: Bago Region CM stressed to prepare for Thingyan festival

The coordination meeting on organizing Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Water Festival was held at the Tawwin Hantha Meeting Hall of the Bago Region Government in the morning on 6th April with the presence of Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win.

In his opening remark, the chief minister said as the good traditions of Bago Region holding the seasonal festival in grand scale with the cooperation of the local residents, the Maha Thingyan festival will be held with great teeming crowd. The departmental pandals will host the charity feast daily for the Thingyan chorus dance troupes.

The water fun fair pandals for the ethnic nationalities with traditional foods will be included. The relevant department should oversee not to be happened of the vehicle related accidents. Necessary preparations and collecting of medicines should be conducted at the hospitals. The traditional occasions such as releasing captive fishes, paying obeisance to the elders and New Year Dhamma preaching ceremony will be held.

Next, the chair of steering committee for organizing Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Water Festival region minister for security and border affairs and chairs of work committees reported implementation for the preparations and the chief minister U Myo Swe Win gave necessary instructions.
