A coordination meeting focusing on enhancing agricultural production across the region and ensuring the achievement of target yield rates was held at the Royal Hamsa Hall of the Bago Region Government Office, on July 15.

At the meeting, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win explained and read out the guidance and directives from the Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister. He also mentioned that in order to ensure adequate coverage of drum seeders in each township, the actual number of required machines based on cultivated acreage would be distributed promptly. Following that, the District Agriculture Officers from Taungoo, Nyaunglaybin, Bago, Pyay, Nattalin, and Thayarwaddy Districts gave detailed PowerPoint presentations on the current progress of monsoon crop cultivation by township, strategies to achieve target yield rates for each crop, and plans for ensuring regional food security in rice and oil crops.

Next, the Bago Region Agriculture Department Director reviewed and offered suggestions based on the district-level presentations. Then, the Region Minister for Security and Border Affairs, emphasized the importance of promoting the production of natural fertilizers by individual farmers in each township, depending on the availability of imported chemical fertilizers.

He also stressed the need to continue public awareness efforts vigorously. Attending members of the regional agricultural supervisory team and chairs of the district administration bodies also presented sector-specific clarifications and suggestions. The Chief Minister, U Myo Swe Win, provided detailed guidance and instructions based on the specific needs of each township.
