Coordinating Meeting: Meeting On Mrauk-U To Be In World Heritage List Discussed

A coordination meeting of the issues to be done in advance with locals for Mrauk-U Cultural Heritage Site in Rakhine State to be inscribed on the World Heritage List was held at Mrauk-U Branch Conference Hall of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum on 31 March.

In the meeting, Deputy Director-General for the Department of Archaeology and National Museum U Nyo Myint Htun clarified conducting the necessary processes to be inscribed on the World Heritage List,  clean-up campaign in Mrauk-U Archaeological Site, participation of the locals in awareness-raising activities,  a beautiful photo exhibition of the MraukU Cultural Heritage Site to be held and the videos of MraukU’s social, cultural and archaeological sites to describe not only in the English language but also in Rakhine and Myanmar languages and to distribute with the participation of the locals.

District and township officials, members of social organizations, and the Pagoda Board of Trustees also participated in the discussions.
