Cooperatives and Rural Development: Union Minister made inspection tour in Nay Pyi Taw

Chairman of the Career Rehabilitation Work Committee Union Minister for Cooperatives and Development of Rural Areas U Hla Moe accompanied by concerned officials conducted a field inspection of the rehabilitation activities in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, Lewe and Pyinmana Township.

Union Minister inspected the distribution of drinking water with a mobile water purification truck owned by the Rural Development Department in Kyopintha village and gave necessary instructions. He also met and encouraged the farmers of the Pauk Myain Agricultural Production Cooperative Association in the village of Kyopintha and fulfilled their requirement. They also provided 6 pyi of rice and clothes for 98 household, and hybrid-1 sunflower seeds for 250 acres of fields in the village. 

Next, Union Minister and party inspected the restoration of Thavatthi-Sittaung River Pier road and outer lanes due to flooding and erosion caused by the flooding, and gave necessary instructions.

Next, Union Minister and party visited Thadar Gyi and Sesone Kone Villages in Lewe Township, gave encuragement to the flood victims, provided rices and clothes for 37 households of ThadarGyi village and 152 households of SeSoneKone village.

In the afternoon, Union Minister and party  visited Kyoon Oo Modern Village in Pyinmana Township, met with bean roaster enterpreneurs and villagers. Then, the relevant officials reported about the damages due to heavy rain,  loan requirement and measure to be taken.

In response to the reports, the Union Minister said it is necessary to cooperate the officials to get MSME loans. For cooperative society fund, the ministry will be forming cooperative societies in cooperation with private entrepreneurs, donors, bean roaster entrepreneurs, grouping workers of bean mills, and provide required capital at a low interest rate. Then, Union Minister fulfilled their requirements.

After that, Union Minister and officials provided 1450 thousand kyats for members of the value-added production cooperative societies and rice bags for 290 households in Kyoon Oo village. They then inspected the distribution of drinking water, removal and cleaning of village roads with machinery by the department of rural road development.

Union Minister and officials also visited Sin Thay village in Pyinmana Township, encouraged the flood victims, gave necessary instructions to the relevant officials, and provided rice and food items for the households of the viilge.
