Cooperation Issue: Union Minister receives UNHCR Representative

Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing received Ms. Noriko Takagi, UNHCR Representative to Myanmar on Tuesday at the Ministry of International Cooperation in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting, the UNHCR Representative to Myanmar discussed the matters relating to the willingness of UN agencies to support and assist the population affected by the Cyclone MOCHA in Myanmar as well as the repatriation and resettlement of displaced persons from Rakhine.

Subsequently, the Union Minister deliberated about the importance of collaboration between the UN agencies and the Government of Myanmar for provision of humanitarian assistance to the affected population and the government’s efforts on repatriation and resettlement of displaced persons from Rakhine.
