Convenient Process: FDA Launched Online Booking System For Products Registration

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Ministry of Health and Sports officially launched the Online Booking System and Certificate Information Management System among the entrepreneurs.

The official launching ceremony of Online Booking System for registration took place in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Myint Htwe attended the ceremony and gave an opening remark.

Currently, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is supervising the premarket control and post market control, to ensure the safety and quality of food, drugs, medical devices and cosmetics. 

And this online booking system is only for medical devices and cosmetics.

Director General, Food and Drug Administration, Prof. Dr. Khin Zaw said “The online booking system was developed for import registration and company registration especially for medical devices and cosmetics. So that, the persons who have to register their product items, they don’t need to wait for a long time at our office.” 

This is the first step of FDA for registration processes through online, aiming to reduce the waiting time for the entrepreneurs due to the increase number of registration on medical devices and cosmetics.

Assistant Director, Cosmetics Division (FDA), Dr. Ei Kay Thwe         said “We will accept the 100 product items of medical devices and 70 product items of cosmetics per day. For online booking system, the company needs to follow the terms and conditions as well as manual guidelines that describes in our webpage. So, I would like to urge to those who have to register their product, to collaborate with us for online registration process in the near future.”

The official added that the online booking system will run starting next Monday, 14th of January.
