


Under the supervision of the Bago Region Government, the Bago Region East Rice Millers’ Association and Bago Edible oil Dealers’ Association has been selling the rice and edible oil at fairer prices to consumers in Bago region jointly cooperation with the Department of Consumer Affairs.
The program is conducted under the instruction of Bago Region Chief Minister. If people have difficulty in purchasing, they can report to the relevant administrators, said an official of Bago region Department of Consumer Affairs.
Win Bo, Regional Deputy Head, Department of Consumer Affairs (Bago) said “We are selling rice at a rate of 1,600 kyats onepyis for consumers. For edible oil, Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers’ Association (Bago) has selling the oil at a rate of 3,900 kyats per viss. We also have a plan to sell 1000 bags of rice for each district.”
They sold 2 Pyis of rice per man, totaling over 400 consumers and 3,000 vissesof edible oil for 3,000 consumers.
Win Wah Nu, Consumer said “They selling the edible oil at a rate of 3,900 kyats per viss and it will cost 4200 kyats including the empty bottle. The price is cheaper than other places. I’d like to say thanks to the Region Chief Minister for selling rice and edible oil at fair prices.”
In Bago District, selling the rice and edible oil at affordable prices started from 14th August and will continue to sell in 31 wards of Bago Township including Hpayargyi and Inntakaw in coming days.
