Continuing Education Program: MoE UM attended opening ceremony in Pathein

The opening ceremony of the Continuing Education Program in 26 townships, jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and the Ayeyawady Region Government, was held at the City Hall in Pathein on Wednesday.

The event was attended by the Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, Ayeyarwady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, Chief Justice of the Region High Court, Region Government Ministers, and departmental officials.

The ceremony began with the teachers from basic education schools in Pathein Township singing the song "Education for All." In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Central Committee for Continuing Education Supervision Union Minister for Education stated that, in line with the directives of the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister to prioritize the improvement of education for rural and ethnic communities, the Ministry of Education is not only focusing on formal schooling but also emphasizing non-formal education methods for those who, for various reasons, have not been able to access formal education etc.

Following this, the Chief Minister of Ayeyarwady Region, who chairs the Region’s Continuing Education Supervision Committee, delivered a speech. Then, a video documenting the continuing education activities in Ayeyarwady Region was shown. Next, the Union Minister presented learning materials for students and teaching aids for instructors to representatives of learners, instructors, and supervisors participating in the Continuing Education Program across 26 townships in Ayeyarwady Region.

Teachers from basic education schools in Pathein Township then performed the song "Envisioning the Future of Continuing Education" in tribute. Then, Chief Minister awarded cash of honour to the regional education officer and teachers, after which the Union Minister, the Chief Minister, and officials took commemorative photos together.

In the evening, Union Minister Dr. Nyunt Pe, the Chief Minister of Ayeyarwady Region, and officials visited continuing education classes at Basic Education Primary School (Kathetan)  and Basic Education Primary School No. (1) (Mayancho) in Pathein, offering encouragement and distributing gifts. Earlier in the morning, the Union Minister accompanied by officials, inspected basic education schools in Pantanaw and Kyaunggone Townships in Ayeyarwady Region, addressing necessary requirements.
