





The Union Minister for Immigration and Population, U Myint Kyaing, visited the Ministry's office complex in Naypyitaw on April 7. He inspected the temporary housing arrangements being set up for staff members who were affected by the earthquake, specifically in the lawn area and parking lot in front of the ministry. After observing the situation and progress, the responsible personnel provided detailed reports on the completed work.
Subsequently, the Union Minister emphasized the need to ensure sufficient water access near the temporary housing areas, as well as to arrange adequate sanitation facilities. He also urged for the rapid completion of the construction of these temporary shelters. The minister further visited the ministry's staff welfare area, inspected food supplies and staff materials, and made sure that no shortages would occur by planning and organizing necessary provisions.
The Union Minister continued his inspection by visiting the office of the Electronic Registration System Department. He reviewed the progress of installing container boxes for the accommodation of staff members and emphasized the importance of ensuring the stability of the supporting posts and the potential for draining water channels in the surrounding area. He instructed the responsible personnel to coordinate necessary tasks to address these needs.
Later, the Union Minister inspected the construction of temporary shelters for civil service personnels at the parking area next to the Department of Population. He also examined the availability of vacant land in the office's vicinity, which could be used for the construction of temporary shelters. He instructed that the land be leveled and plans for rapid shelter construction be put into action. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of ensuring a proper system for providing drinking water and electricity for these areas, instructing the responsible officials to organize and execute these plans effectively. Then, the Union Minister gave necessary instructions and fulfilled requirements, it’s learnt.
