





Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, accompanied by officials, inspected ongoing preparations for temporary housing to accommodate earthquake-affected civil servants and their families on ministry-owned land in the morning of April 15.
The Union Minister visited sites where the emergency shelters for displaced staff from the Cooperative Department and Small-Scale Industries Department are being constructed. He instructed to complete the housing projects by the first week of May.
Next, the Union Minister inspected the construction progress on temporary living quarters for earthquake-impacted staff at the parking area of Rural Development Department Headquarters, the construction of 10 single-story, four-room housing units to accommodate 80 staffs at the Rural Road Development Department’s Regional Office Site in Zabuthiri Township, setting up of temporary sleep rooms for displaced staff at the Myauk Latkone Warehouse of Rural Development Department and the land designated for additional temporary housing at the Trainee Dormitory Compound in Pyinmana Township.
The Union Minister urged officials to ensure high-quality construction and timely completion before the monsoon season, emphasizing the need for comfortable living conditions for affected staff and families.
Later, the Union Minister visited the Mahasi Meditation Center in Lewe Township, where some displaced staff are temporarily staying. He inquired about their living conditions and ensured necessary support was provided.
Finally, the Union Minister inspected a mobile water purification system near MICC-2 where the water from Yay-Ngan Dam is being treated and distributed as clean drinking water to affected communities.Â
