






Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun, accompanied by relevant departmental officials, inspected the progress of the 500 kV Sapakye (Taungoo) Substation construction project being implemented by the Electricity Transmission and System Control Department near Sapakye Village, Taungoo Township, Bago Region, on December 1st.
First, the Director-General and responsible officials of the Electricity Transmission and System Control Department briefed the Union Minister and officials at the project's temporary office on the project details of the 500 kV Kangaung (Meiktila) Substation and the 500 kV Sapakye (Taungoo) Substation, the progress of the substation construction works, the current completion status of the works, and the future project implementation plans.
In response to the briefing, the Union Minister instructed them to carry out the project works according to the established schedule to ensure timely completion, to prioritize meeting quality standards and specifications, to pay attention to workplace safety, security awareness, and maintaining constant security vigilance, and to supervise the remaining works to ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe.
He also provided necessary support as required. Subsequently, the Union Minister toured the project site to inspect the ongoing construction of the Control Building and the installation status of transformers, Shunt Reactors, and Hybrid Gas Insulated Switchgear (HGIS) within the Switch Yard. The responsible officials explained the completion status of the project works and the current progress of the construction activities, and the Union Minister gave further necessary instructions.
