Conservation of forests :MoNREC Union Minister makes a field trip

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi met officials of forest, environmental conservation and mineral sectors under the Ministry at the Department of Forest in Taunggyi, Shan State South on Monday.

In meeting, the officials reported on the working processes and future plans of their respective departments. In response to the reports, the Unioin Minister said to carrying out the tasks to achieve the target, to develop the forest conservation tasks, to expand the forest protection zones,  to protect  watershed areas, to make efforts for preserving biological diversity, plans to eliminate illegal timber extraction and illegal mining production according to the rules and regulations and capacity enchantment of the staffs.
