Consecration Ceremony: Diamond Bud hoisted atop Shwe Bone Pwint Pagoda

A ceremony to hoist Diamond bud, Vane and Golden umbrella atop Shwe Bone Pwint Pagoda in Shan State (South) was held on 11th April in conjunction with the consecration ceremony.

Prior to the ceremony, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing offered Emerald alms bowl, fruits and water to the Buddha Image residing at the Prayer Hall.

Then, the ceremony commenced with three times recitation of Namosata, and the congregation led the by the Prime Minister and wife received 9 precepts administered by State Ovadacriya, Pahtama Mine Thout Pariyatti Sar Thin Teik presiding Sayadaw, and listened to the sermons delivered by members of Sangha. This was followed by the perfoming of religious rituals.

Then, the Prime Minister and wife, and party offered Diamond Bud and religious items to the Pahtama Mine Thout Pariyatti Sar Thin Teik presiding Sayadaw and members of the Sangha, along with the offertories.

Then, the congregation led by the Prime Minister listened to the sermon delivered by Shan State Sangha Nayaka Committee Chairman, Taunggyi Thein Taung Pariyatti Sar Thin Teik Presiding Sayadaw, and shared the merits gained. It was followed by the procession of Diamond Bud, Vane and Golden umbrellas, in a clock wise direction.

Then, the Prime Minister and officials hoisted the Diamond Bud, Vane and Golden Umbrella atop the pagoda and sprinkled scented water.

Next, a gold plate weighing 6 ticals donated by the Prime Minister, wife and family members was installed at the vane.

Then, the Prime Minister and party paid homage to the pagoda and Buddha images and offered flowers, water and oil lamps. The consecration ceremony then followed, and day meals were donated to the Sayadaws and members of Sangha.
