

The Yangon Region Government organized a ceremony to confer religious titles and honorary titles upon the senior monks, nuns, and laypersons.
The event took place at the Sixth Buddhist Synod Maha Pasana Cave, on Thirimingalar Kabar Aye Hill in Mayangon Township, Yangon Region on March 13, full moon day of Tabaung. First, the attendees received the Five Precepts from the chairman of the Region Sangha Nayaka Committee.
Following this, the Maha Gandhavacaka Pandita title recipient, presiding Sayadaw of the Pali-Takkatho Aung Mingalar Monastery in Alon Township, delivered a Sammodaniya Ovadakatha. Next, the Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, supplicated religious matters.
Subsequently, the Chief Minister and wife, along with the Commander of Yangon Region Command Brigadier General Pyae Sone Lin and wife, the Chief Justice of the Yangon Region High Court, region ministers and their spouses, and senior officials, conferred religious titles and honors.
A total of 76 recipients, including 69 senior monks and 7 senior nuns, were conferred, along with 16 laypersons who were awarded titles for their contributions to the Sasana.
Following this, the attendees listened to a sermon delivered by the Lecturer Sayadaw from Pali-Takkatho Nyaungtone Monastery in Bahan Township, who serves as the secretary of the region Sangha Nayaka Committee and shared the merits gained. After that, the Chief Minister and officials, as well as donors, offered cash donations and offertories to the Senior monks and nuns.
