Conferring Honorary Titles: Acting President SSPC Chairman presented titles

The 78th Anniversary Independence Day commemorative honorary title conferment ceremony was held at the auditorium of the National Defence and Security Council Office in Nay Pyi Taw on January 4.

The Acting President Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing, attended, delivered an address, and conferred the honorary titles. In his address, the Acting President SSPC Chairman, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing, stated that today is a historic auspicious day of the country, the 78th Anniversary Independence Day.

It has been 78 years since the country regained its sovereign power and stood proudly again in the world as a free country. He expressed his immense joy and delight that on such an auspicious Independence Day, a ceremony to confer honorary titles is held and he has the opportunity to personally confer them upon the recipients.

The Acting President emphasized that the country's independence and sovereignty are the lifeblood of the nation that must be eternally preserved and protected. The country is situated between two powerful nations and, with complex political historical backgrounds, holds a strategically important geographical position.

There are also internal armed conflicts. If stability cannot be maintained, the country could face situations of disintegration again. He noted that all must learn from the historical events in the country and strive to build a modern, developed, stable, and peaceful nation in the future, leaving a good legacy for the country.

Only then will the era and the generations be loyal and responsible to the nation. The SSPC Chairman pointed out that nation-building and state-building tasks require the collaborative strength of experts, professionals, and capable individuals from various sectors and aspects, rather than being undertaken by a single person or group. The government firmly believes that implementing by pooling such forces will lead to more effective success and has been practically applying this principle. As a commemoration of the 78th Anniversary Independence Day, the ceremony today confers honorary titles. included 13 recipients of the Sithu title, 9 recipients of Thiripyanchi title, 2 recipients of the Zeya Kyaw Htin title, 4 recipients of the Wunna Kyaw Htin title, and 4 recipients of the Alinkar Kyawswer title, awarded via Order Notification No. 60/2025 on April 17, 2025, in commemoration of Myanmar New Year's Day; 3 recipients of the Wunna Kyaw Htin title, awarded via Order Notification No. 95/2025 on July 2, 2025, in commemoration of Myanmar Women's Day; and 1 recipient of the Thiripyanchi title, 7 recipients of the Zeyar Kyaw Htin title, 10 recipients of the Wunna Kyaw Htin title, 6 recipients of the Alinkar Kyawswer title, and 17 recipients of the Thiekpa Kyawswer title, awarded via Order Notification No. 203/2025 on November 14, 2025, in commemoration of National Victory Day.

Out of a total of 76 recipients, the attending recipients will be conferred with the respective honorary title insignia and honorific documents. He expressed his wish that the distinguished recipients and honored guests be joyful and healthy physically and mentally, live long and well, and be able to carry forward the benefits for themselves, others, and the country.

Following this, the Acting President SSPC Chairman, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing, personally conferred the honorary titles on each individual: the 13 recipients of the Sithu Thingaha title (Sithu title); the 2 recipients of the Thiha Thura title and 1 recipient of the Thura title (Tatmadaw gallantry titles); the 10 recipients of the Thiripyanchi title; the 9 recipients of the Zeyar Kyaw Htin title; the 17 recipients of the Wunna Kyaw Htin title; the 8 recipients of the Alinkar Kyawswer title; and the 11 recipients of the Thiekpa Kyawswer title.

Afterward, the Acting President SSPC Chairman took a group commemorative photo with the honorary title recipients. After the ceremony, the Acting President SSPC Chairman warmly greeted the attendees, honorary title recipients, and their family members, it is reported.
