Competition for Disabled Athletes: Commemoration of Int’l Day of Persons with Disabilities

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan on Tuesday attended the opening ceremony of sports competitions for disabled athletes commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at the people’s sports ground in Myitkyina Township.

In his opening remarks, the Chief Minister said that as the Kachin State government, implementations are underway for continuous mental and physical development of persons with disabilities and to help them get disabilities rights, social access, education, health, culture, travelling and vocational education.

And, the Chief Minister and officials enjoyed the sport competitions and presented awards to the winning disabled athletes. During the competitions, disabled athletes from 4 teams participated in the 100 meters race, shot put/discus tournament, tug-of-war and chess events.
