Commissioning Road into Service: Yangon Region CM attended the ceremony

By hailing and honoring the 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day, a ceremony of commissioning Asphalt Concrete Road (from Oak PonSeik Road to Kokkine Flyover) into service was held on the road in the morning on 29th February and attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Ministers of the region government, Department officials and local people.

First, the opening ceremony of commissioning Asphalt Concrete Road (from Oak PonSeik Road to Kokkine Flyover) into service was opened by the heads of departments led by Committee member (6) U Aung Naing by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.After that, the Chief Minister and his team inspected the road by walking on it and cordially greeted the local residents.

The construction of roads, repairing and maintenance and upgrading works included in the tasks of Engineering Department (Road and Bridges) under the Yangon City Development Committee are being carried out as per the fiscal year.

Among the road upgrading works, Kabaaye Pagoda Road included in the main roads of Yangon City was upgraded with upper layer of asphalt concrete laying from the intersection of 8 Mile Road to the intersection of Oak PonSeik Road (4300 feet) and from the intersection of Oak PonSeik Road to Kokkine flyover (16470 feet), totaling 20770 feet (3.93 miles) in 2023-2024 fiscal year.

Today on Wednesday, the Road is commissioned into service for the using of public in a gesture of hailing and honoring the 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day, it’s reported.
