Commerce Affairs: Union Minister holds meeting with UMFCCI

Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn on Saturday presided over a meeting with officials from the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and affiliated associations and federations at the head office of the UMFCCI.

It’s to increase the export volume of the local products without affecting the domestic market and to cooperate with the Commodity Testing and Quality Management (CTQM). Then, the Union Minister attended the knowledge sharing program on consumer protection, competition and copyright laws.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister pointed out that the consumer protection, competition and copyright laws are 3 pillars of the nation’s economic sector. Understanding these 3 laws can solve difficulties, avoidance of bad acts and legal benefits, he added.

Then, Chairman of the UMFCCI gave introduction speech and attendees made sector-wise discussions. On the same day, at the Thilawa Special Economic Zone, the Union Minister inspected the Tin concentrate production processes of the DS Myanmar Co.,Ltd and provided necessary instructions on penetrating the international market with the qualified products due to the demand and market condition.
