A ceremony to mark the Myanmar Anti-Trafficking in Persons Day was held in Mawlamyine of Mon State on 13th September.
Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein attended the ceremony and made a speech, highlighting the impacts of human trafficking in the world nations. He called for cooperation of all concerned persons in combating human trafficking, while carrying out the awareness measures for public knowledge.
During the ceremony, a message sent by member of the State Administration Council, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen YarPyae in his capacity as the Chairman of the Central Committee for Prevention of Human Trafficking was read out.
In addition, prizes were presented to the winners of the essay competitions, commemorating the Myanmar Anti-Trafficking in Persons Day. After the ceremony, the Chief Minister and attendees later viewed the displays of documentary photos on the activities for combating trafficking in persons.
