Commemorative Event: The International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation observed the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies on Friday.

Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi attended the ceremony and made a speech, highlighting the threats of air pollution and ways to mitigate the issue to prevent from climate change, environmental pollution and distinction of biodiversity. He called for collaborative efforts of concerned personnel to hand down the legacy of sustainable development to the next generation, along with clean air and better environ.

During the ceremony, a commemorative video clip was screened, and educative posters were exhibited. This year theme for the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies "Invest in #CleanAirNow", emphasizing the urgent need for stronger partnerships, increased investment, and shared responsibility to combat air pollution.

In Myanmar, the Environmental Conservation Department is making cooperative efforts with relevant departments for drafting the air quality standards in order to prevent air pollution and create healthy environ with better air quality.
