Commemorative Ceremony in Chin State :CM attends 2023 World Breastfeeding Week Celebration

A ceremony to mark 2023 World Breastfeeding Week and Nutrition Week (State Level) was held at the office of State Public Health and Medical Services Department in Chin State on Thursday.

Chin State Chief Minister Dr. Wong Hsun Htan, the State Government Ministers and departmental officials attended the ceremony.

At the event, the State Chief Minister said that the ceremony aims to be interested and participate more in the nutrition week activities by the people. This year theme of the World Breastfeeding Week is “Enabling breastfeeding; making a difference for working parents!".

Mother's milk is the first nutrient for a child, and from birth to the age of 6 months, only mother's milk needs to be fed. He stressed the needs on raising awareness on feeding vitamin-A and B tablets, iron tablets and nutritious food and more cooperating in nutrition development activities along conducting basic health care services.

Later, the State Chief Minister presented nutritious food to pregnancy women and breast feeding mothers.

The State Chief Minister together with Chief Justice of the State High Court, the State Ministers and officials also fed vitamin-A to children under-5 and also presented gifts.

They then observed the Nutrition Education Charts displayed by the State Health Department.
