Commemorative Ceremony: 70th Anniversary of Myanmar Chinlone Federation

A ceremony to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Myanmar Chinlone (Cane Ball) Federation was held at the Wunna Theikdhi Stadium (A) on Tuesday.

At the event, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan said that, in order to develop the cane ball or Chinlone traditional sports, the Myanmar Chinlone Federation was formed on 10th July 1953.

In order to spread the sport of cane ball not only in local but also to foreign countries, the traditional cane ball trainings are opened in basic education schools and the local competitions are held.

The cane ball sport could brought gold, silver and bronze medals for the country in the SEA Games and promote the nation’s prestige.

The Union Minister called on officials from Cane Ball Federation to strive for spreading the cane ball sports to the Asia and international levels through the South East Asia level from the 70th Anniversary to successive jubilees.

Later, Parton of Myanmar Caneball Federation reported the traditional sport technique and the Chairman of the Federation also spoke words of thanks.

After that, the Union Minister and officials presented commemorative gifts to traditional cane ball professional players aged 70 and above in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

The Union Minister and party then observed demonstration of cane ball playing by cane ball teams. An official of Myanmar Caneball Federation presented cash to Ma Su Twetar who conducted solo demonstration and the Union Minister also presented cash for demonstration teams.

Likewise, the Union Minister, deputy Ministers, Tatmadaw senior officers and officials also enjoyed competing of Kachin State team and Taninthayi Region team at the group round match of Region and State Futsal Tournament at the Futsal gymnasium of Wunna Theikdhi Stadium.
