

A commemorative ceremony to mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence was held at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement with the attendance of Chairman of the Myanmar Women’s Committee, Union Minister Dr. Soe Win.
The 2024 theme of the activism is "Towards Beijing +30: UNiTE to End Violence Against Women and Girls." Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister stressed that Myanmar is implementing the women development and women’s rights promotion activities enacting policies in line with the Unite Nations Sustainable Development Goals and provisions of World Conferences on Women and Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.
The Union Minister also called for the concerted efforts of the relevant individuals to protect and provide necessary assistances to the women in need. The ceremony concluded after screening video clips featuring elimination Gender-Based Violence activities.
