Coming of Age Day archery ritual was held in Japan's Yamaguchi Prefecture on Monday. During the event, young adults shot arrows to drive away evil spirits. Twelve men and women with experience in Japanese archery took part wearing traditional hakama. They each shot two arrows at a target 12 meters away. The target, measuring over one meter in diameter, bore the kanji character for “evil.”
