COMBATING COVID-19: SPORT FACILITY TRANSFERRED INTO QUARANTINE CENTER IN MDY

The multipurpose sport facility in the compound of Mandalar Thiri football ground, Mandalay will be used as quarantine center for the COVID patients and the preparations have been completed almost 80% according to the Mandalay bureau of MRTV.

Currently, Mandalay Football Academy is accommodating the COVID-19 suspected patients and the persons tested negative are being transferred to Zee Pin Gyi Quarantine Center.

After the preparations have completed, the persons tested negative from Mandalay Football Academy Quarantine Center will be housed at the sport facility Quarantine Center, it’s learnt.

Chairperson,Department of Public Health and Medical Services, Dr. Than Than Myint said "When the preparations of the center have completed, the persons tested negative don’t need to go toZee Pin Gyi Quarantine Center. Positive patients will be transferred to respective hospitals and negative persons will be housed at the Sport facility Center.
It will be more convenient for the transportation of the patients. We hope, about 200 persons could be accommodated at the center."

Director, Sport and Physical Education Department, Saw Nay Min Tun said "Our department is working compound cleaning works, connection of electricity power lines and air conditioners at the center.
The preparations of the center have been completed about 75% and free wifi will be provided at the center."

Mandalay Region Private Schools Association donates the necessary items of the center.

Chairperson, Mandalay Region Private Schools Association, Hnin Hnin Maw said "Our association donates 11 personal items including pillow, blanket, mosquito net and other items worth over 10 million kyats.
There are many people who are willing to donate to the center. Today, our donation is the contribution of six private schools in the region."

The number of COVID-19 positive cases is on the increase across the country and the government is working the best to fight against the disease in cooperation with respective organizations.
