Colombian town holds vigil for 21 dead miners

Residents of the Colombian mining town of Sutatausa on Friday held a vigil for the 21 workers who were killed during a coal mine explosion and collapse earlier this week. Officials confirmed the deaths of all the trapped miners on Thursday, after more than 30 hours of operations to find survivors and retrieve bodies.

Two of the deceased workers were buried on Friday, and three more are planned to be buried on Saturday. Last year 117 accidents were registered at mines throughout the country by the National Mining Agency and146 workers were killed in those incidents.
