Colombia and Venezuela presidents meet in Caracas

Colombian President Gustavo Petro arrived Saturday in Caracas for a meeting with his counterpart Nicolas Maduro.

According to a joint statement released by Colombia’s Secretary for Communications and Press, the presidents discussed topics such as Venezuela's support to Colombia as a guarantor country in the peace process, progress in the agreement on the reciprocal promotion and protection of investments, review of a bilateral trade agreement, opening of the bridges linking both countries, among other cooperation issues.

The presidential meeting was also attended by the Venezuelan Ministers and Colombian Chief of Staff, Foreign Minister, Colombian Ambassador to Venezuela, Colombian Ambassador to the United States and Trade Minister
