Collective blood donation: Marking World Blood Donor Day 2023

Collective blood donation ceremony marking World Blood Donor Day 2023 was held at the Mon State Red Cross Supervisory Committee Office on 14th June.

The event was attended by Mon State Chief Minister U AungKyiThein, South-east Command Commander, Chief Justice of the State Court, the State ministers, departmental personnel, committee members and State First Aid members, and blood donors.

In his speech, the State Chief Minister said that blood donation is a kind of noble deed. On 14th December 1962, the Organizing Committee for National Blood Bank was formed and the blood donation system was changed. He added that the government staffs but also social organizations need to participate in conducting the development of healthcare services.

The State Chief Minister then presented cash for members of the State Red Cross Supervisory Committee. Certificates of honour were also presented for the Red Cross society members who organized the blood donors by the State Chief Minister and the Commander.

Next, the State Chief Minister, the Commander and the State ministers encouraged the blood donors who were donating blood at the Blood bank of Mawlamyaing General Hospital and presented commemorative gifts to them.
