




The Kachin State Government held a meeting with fish breeders on March 9th, with the aim of ensuring the accuracy of fish ponds and land utilization in accordance with the law.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, emphasized the importance of cooperation and collaboration for the socio-economic development of farmers.
Discussions focused on land utilization for fish breeding ponds, laws and by-laws governing farmland use, granting permissions for fish breeding purposes, and addressing technical obstacles related to water availability.
Kachin State boasts over 2,400 acres of land designated for the fish breeding industry, with Myitkyina District leading the engagement with over 1,100 acres, while Chibwe District has yet to venture into fish breeding activities, according to the statistics of State Farmland Management and Land Record Department.
