Coastal Recources Management: Work Committee meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw

State-Level Work Committee on Coastal Recources Management held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw Forestry Department on Friday. Committee Chairman Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi discussed the need to make systematic management for sustainability of marine diversity and ecosystem and resources.

He stressed that Myanmar is implementing the conservation and systematic utilization of coastal resources by laying down the long term plan for development of Blue Economy. He urged all to accelerate the efforts for preservation of coastal resurces through public education and settign up the work plans for designating the Hot Spots and waste management to avoid the damage of marine ecosystem.

The meeting discussed the drafting of Blue Economy development policies, conservation of coastal resources, establishig the  information management system and research centers and development of Marine Ecotourism. The meeting also outline plans to supervise the inspecting the illegal fishing, to develop marine based research works and to combat the illegal trade by sea route.
