Coastal Erosion in An Bàng Beach, in Hoi An city

An Bàng Beach in Hoi An city of Quang Nam province in Viet Nam has eroded to the north despite no big wave in recent days. The erosion has an average depth of 7-10m and a length of about 50m. Since this is a rare phenomenon, the upcoming storm season will likely worsen the erosion.

The Hoi An city People’s Committee has requested the Quang Nam province People’s Committee and relevant authorities to promptly inspect the area and implement appropriate solutions to protect the coast. Recently, Quang Nam Province has deployed hard embankments, creating anti-erosion measures at Cua Dai – Hoi An beach.
