Climate Ambition Summit closing

Concluding the Climate Ambition Summit, the UN chief António Guterres said, “the 1.5 degrees limit is possible to be achieved.

The Summit brought together a diverse group of leaders from governments, businesses, private and public financial institutions, cities and regions that have responded positively and ambitiously to the concrete ‘asks’ made by the Secretary-General in his Acceleration Agenda.

Guterres also said that the Summit saw a meaningful number of countries that are already fully aligning their policies with the 1.5 degrees goal, adding that there are regions and cities that are already aligning their policies, their strategies, their investments with the 1.5 degrees limit.
